Zanzibar coastline at sunset — Eastern Circuit Safari Tanzania with Yera Journeys

 EASTERN CIRCUIT · YERA JOURNEYS

Saadani. Udzungwa. Zanzibar.

Where the bush meets the ocean. A coastal reserve, a rainforest, and an island — the proper close to a Tanzania journey, not just an airport transfer at the end of it.

★★★★★ 5-STAR RATED EST. 2004 500+ TRAVELERS GUIDED

THE PROBLEM

Most Safaris End at the Airport, Not on a Beach.

After days of early game drives and dusty roads, most itineraries just end — a final lodge, a transfer, a departure lounge. There's rarely a deliberate close to the trip, just a stop when the days run out.

THE YERA DIFFERENCE

We Route Your Final Days on Purpose.

Saadani, Udzungwa, or straight to Zanzibar — your last days are planned as a proper close to the journey, not an afterthought. Whether that's a beach where wildlife wanders down to the shoreline, a rainforest trek, or simply white sand and stillness, it's arranged with the same care as the safari that came before it.

"We almost skipped the coast to save two days. Watching an elephant walk along the shoreline at Saadani, then landing in Zanzibar two days later, ended up being the part of the trip we talk about most." — Marcus & Priya L. · Singapore

THE THREE DESTINATIONS

Three Destinations. One Proper Close.

Saadani National Park, Tanzania

BEST FOR: BEACH MEETS BUSH

Saadani

The only park in Tanzania where the bush meets the beach directly. Boat safaris on the Wami River in the morning, elephant and giraffe within walking distance of the shoreline, and an afternoon free on the same sand.

Udzungwa Mountains National Park rainforest, Tanzania

BEST FOR: RAINFOREST TREKKING

Udzungwa

Ancient rainforest trails through one of Africa's richest pockets of biodiversity — waterfalls, primates found nowhere else on earth, and a change of pace entirely from open-plains game viewing.

Zanzibar beach, Tanzania

BEST FOR: THE PERFECT FINALE

Zanzibar

Stone Town's spice-scented alleys, and beaches that need no introduction. The standard, well-earned close to a Tanzania journey — barefoot, unhurried, and a world away from the dust of the bush.

QUESTIONS

Eastern Circuit — Frequently Asked

How many days should we add for the coast?

Most guests add 3 to 5 days. That's enough for a couple of nights at Saadani or Udzungwa plus several nights in Zanzibar, without feeling rushed at the end of a long safari.

Can we fly direct from the Serengeti to Zanzibar?

Yes — scheduled and charter flights connect Serengeti airstrips to Zanzibar, usually routed through Arusha or Dar es Salaam. Door to door, it's a half-day, not a full one.

Is Saadani worth adding alongside Zanzibar?

If you have the days for it, yes. Saadani is the only park in Tanzania where the bush meets the beach directly — elephant and giraffe wander within sight of the same shoreline you'll later relax on in Zanzibar, a contrast most guests don't expect.
