Where do you stay on safari in Tanzania?
On a Tanzania safari you stay in safari lodges, tented camps or small hotels, inside or just outside the national parks. Lodges are permanent buildings with solid walls. Tented camps are canvas suites with a real bed, private bathroom and hot shower. Most safaris use two to four different stays, one for each park.

Luxury Tented Camps in Tanzania: Questions Travellers Ask
What is the difference between a safari lodge and a tented camp?
A lodge is a permanent building with solid walls. A tented camp uses large canvas tents with a real bed, private bathroom and hot shower. Both offer full meals and service.
Are tented camps in Tanzania safe?
Yes. Camps are staffed day and night, and staff escort guests to and from their tents after dark.
Do safari camps have electricity and Wi-Fi?
Most have solar power with charging points. Wi-Fi is usually available in the main area and can be slow in remote parks.
Is it better to stay inside or outside the national park?
Staying inside the park puts you closer to the wildlife at sunrise and sunset. Staying outside costs less and suits shorter safaris.
Can I mix different levels of accommodation in one safari?
Yes. You can combine Classic, Signature and Bespoke stays in the same journey.
Where do you stay for the Great Migration?
In Ndutu from December to March for calving season, and in the Northern Serengeti from July to October for the Mara River crossings.
Can children stay at safari lodges and camps?
Yes. Yera family safaris welcome children from age 2. Some camps set their own age limits, which we confirm for each trip.
