Overview
5 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Fly-In Safari
Most five-day safaris spend a third of the trip on the road. This one flies you straight from Arusha or Zanzibar to the Serengeti, so your first game drive starts the afternoon you arrive. Three nights in one camp give you time to follow the wildlife instead of the clock, and the journey ends with a morning on the floor of Ngorongoro Crater. Accommodation can be mixed across Classic, Signature and Bespoke within the same safari.

Make this journey yours
- Start from Arusha or Zanzibar. Daily flights connect both to the Serengeti, so the safari fits before or after a beach stay.
- Ndutu in calving season. From December to March, we base you in the southern Serengeti at Ndutu, where the wildebeest herds give birth.
- Add a night. A fourth night in the Serengeti gives you another full day on the plains.
- Hot air balloon at dawn. Float over the Seronera valley at sunrise, followed by breakfast in the bush.
- Fly out from Manyara. Skip the drive to Arusha and fly from Manyara airstrip to Zanzibar after the crater.
- Mix your accommodation. Combine Classic, Signature and Bespoke camps within the same safari.
Best time
When to take this safari
This itinerary works in every month. What changes is where the herds are and how green the plains look.
June to October
Dry season. Clear skies, short grass and wildlife gathered near water. The busiest months, so book early.
December to March
Calving season in the southern Serengeti. Thousands of wildebeest calves are born each day, and predators follow closely.
April to May
Green season. Afternoon rains, few vehicles and the lowest rates of the year.
November
Short rains. Fresh grass, newly arrived migratory birds and quiet camps.
Ngorongoro Crater holds its wildlife all year, so the final morning delivers in any season.
