Wildlife and culture in four days
This private 4-day safari starts in Arusha. You spend a full day with the elephant herds of Tarangire, go down to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, and spend a morning with the Hadzabe and Datoga people at Lake Eyasi.
Drives are short, so most of your time is spent in the parks. You stay two nights at the same lodge in Karatu, so there is no packing every morning.

Day 1
Arrival in Arusha
Your guide meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and drives you to Arusha. Rest after the flight, then sit down for a safari briefing ahead of the next day.

Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
A full-day game drive in Tarangire, among large elephant herds and baobabs, with lions and giraffe along the Tarangire River. Picnic lunch is inside the park. In the afternoon you drive on to Karatu.

Day 3
Ngorongoro Crater
An early descent to the crater floor for a game drive among black rhino, lions, hippos and flamingos. Picnic lunch is in the crater. You return to the same lodge in Karatu for the night.

Day 4
Lake Eyasi, then Arusha
Leave Karatu around 5:00 am for Lake Eyasi. Join the Hadzabe for a morning hunt and fire-making, then visit Datoga blacksmiths. You then drive back to Arusha, about 4 hours, for an evening flight or onward travel.
